DESCRIPTION:
The development comprised 3 no. twelve storey ward towers and 3 no. four storey procedural and administrative buildings, and a single storey basement under the building footprint. Operation theatres were also located on the upper levels of the structure.
INVOLVEMENT:
Structural engineers for the design of the structural steel frame. The floors were insitu concrete composite construction. Struer were appointed to design the superstructure for the steel fabricator. A response factor analysis was carried out on the upper floor levels to assess the vibration performance of the ward an operation theatre floors.
CHALLENGES:
The scale of this project and the demanding fabrication programme were the main challenges. The structural design had to be complete in time for fabrication deadlines.
BENEFITS TO CLIENT:
A futuristic modern hospital facility has been delivered, reducing pressure on other hospitals in the area. Our direct client met all fabrication dates due to the quality and speed of delivery from Struer.
